Facebook seems to touch each person differently. Plenty of
my friends love it, are addicted, the works. It makes them happy and that's
perfectly fine. In fact, it's great for them. I know it has plenty of merits
and I like keeping in touch with people I otherwise wouldn't be able to talk to
regularly. My mother uses it because it feeds her need to know everything about
everyone, and also makes her think she's up to date on all the new crazy
security scams. While she enjoys it, I also think it makes her more paranoid
about the world and the internet in general, despite many of these worries
being baseless. Some of my friends don't even have a Facebook, for a variety of
reasons.
Personally, I started to find it invasive and exhausting, to the point that I no longer update or check my mine. It became another place where I needed to keep up appearances and put on a different face, when family members began to join in. I do that enough in real life, doing it online when I'm not required just seemed like an extra hassle.
So what's your relationship with Facebook? Do you feel like it has an impact on your mood? Do you get withdrawals or feel like it's too demanding?
I have facebook because I think it is important to maintain
relationships with people who I would otherwise wonder about but have no way to
contact. With facebook I can tell them I am thinking about you, so I like it
for that reason. But the facebook setup easily draws me away from that goal. So
if I go on facebook to send one message to one person, I also end up looking at
pictures I would never have cared about or watching random videos someone I
knew in high school shared.
Facebook uses the lure of friends and relationships, the idea of being connected to others, to draw people in. But it's actual goal seems to be distracting people from actually making connections so that they spend more time clicking links. It depresses me because facebook seems like just another example of humans taking something with great potential and turning it into its most basic, short-term focused pieces

Every Thing has got two faces one is positive and the
another one is negative . It depends on you how you use it . The very good
example of it might be invention of Nuclear Energy . Everyone knows what can
Nuclear Bombs do but it is also correct that it can provide us with the
cheapest and cleanest type of energy for Power consumption . Similarly for
Facebook also . Thanks to Facebook i can meet my old buddy after 15 years with
no clue where to find him only his name .Yes it is distracting sometimes to Sponsored
Ads all over the Facebook but that is the way they are generating income
otherwise they would have charged it from us for some fee . So we should carry
on this by keeping on mind that nothing is free in this World .
For many people nowadays, social networking sites like
Facebook are important. But, why is it really important? Are there
disadvantages of having one?
For me, Facebook is helpful because it connects us to our loved ones wherever they are or whenever we need. We can get updates on how they are, what they are doing and stuffs like that. Also, I use Facebook for online jobs and so are many others. I can post status and upload photos showing my status, how I feel, what important things happen in my life and other more.
But, there are also disadvantages of having an account. There are a lot of users who were victimized by a scam. Also, we should beware of too much postings of the happenings in your life. For an example, you uploaded a photo with a full detail of your location, isn't it dangerous? So remember, think before you click.

I only use Facebook to stay in touch with a few relatives
and friends that live outside the country. Sometimes, I use it to follow up on
updates with certain parties I'm interested in, such as current news, Linux distros
(I'm a tech hobbyist and a geek), and many more. I even use the messaging
feature at times when regular texting becomes unavailable.
To me, Facebook is a great tool for communication. However, I do find many people using it to air their dirty laundry or put on a false front for bragging rights. In the past, I even saw some former friends act like they are still in high school over a trivial issue. That situation was the very reason why I do not use Facebook as much now except when absolutely necessary.
