Facebook seems to touch each person differently. Plenty of
my friends love it, are addicted, the works. It makes them happy and that's
perfectly fine. In fact, it's great for them. I know it has plenty of merits
and I like keeping in touch with people I otherwise wouldn't be able to talk to
regularly. My mother uses it because it feeds her need to know everything about
everyone, and also makes her think she's up to date on all the new crazy
security scams. While she enjoys it, I also think it makes her more paranoid
about the world and the internet in general, despite many of these worries
being baseless. Some of my friends don't even have a Facebook, for a variety of
reasons.
